German, American and Polish aircraft fly in formation over the Baltic Sea during NATO exercise BALTOPS 2017.

BALTOPS is a maritime-focused exercise taking place in the Baltic Sea in which several NATO allies and partner nations conduct live training events. The exercise is designed to enhance flexibility and interoperability, to strengthen combined response capabilities, as well as demonstrate resolve among Allied and partner nations’ forces to ensure stability in, and if necessary defend, the Baltic Sea region.

B-52H Stratofortess, B-1B Lancer, Eurofighter Typhoon, KC-135, RP-8 Poseidon, are included in this exercise.
