NATO is deploying a multinational battalion to Lithuania. Led by the Germans, the battalion also includes troops from Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway. It is one of four multinational battalions being deployed along NATO’s eastern flank.
The deployment of troops, agreed at NATO Summit in Warsaw, is a direct response to Russia’s troop build-up along their western border and airspace incursions.
